First of all, I wanted to send my prayers to friends and family who are dealing with this horrible storm known as Hurricane Dorian. May your life return to "normal" as soon as possible and may there always be a rainbow of hope around you.
Upcoming Event: Magazine Collage "Meetup Group"
Wednesday, September 4th
6:30pm-9:00pm
Cafe Express Meyerland, Houston
Have you ever wanted to try your hand at making a collage? Would you like to have a fun night out with others who are also interested? Well, then, my Magazine Collage Meetup Group is for you! I created the meetup group last February and we meet once a month (although we took time off during the summer). If you are interested in attending, please reserve your spot! It is free, but I will need to know how many people to set up for. Here is link for more information which includes all the details, a list of supplies that you will want to bring with you, and a place to RSVP. If you cannot catch this one, you can still join my group (it's free) and you will automatically receive notices for the next one.
What's on my "digital easel" today: Mosaics
The color GREEN, according to www.bourncreative.com, is "soothing, relaxing, and youthful. Green is a color that helps alleviate anxiety, depression, and nervousness. Green also brings with it a sense of hope, health, adventure, and renewal, as well as self-control, compassion, and harmony."
If you were to ask my daughter, Gwendolyn, what my favorite color is, she will tell you it is green. These are some of my newest "Kaleidoscope" series in green. I must admit that I did feel very relaxed and peaceful while creating these. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
These are a bit more "crisp" looking. A little less busy than my green ones. Sometimes I have a hard time knowing when to stop. A friend of mine asked me just this week how do I know when my artwork is complete. And my answer is just that it "feels" right, that I have a peaceful sensation.
And these, well, let's just say that I just couldn't stop myself!
Oftentimes when I lay down the layers of colors, I start to see different images "appear" before my eyes. And then I try to enhance them to make them a bit more defined. What do you see in these mosaics when you look closely?
